SUMMER SCHOOL – CONCERTS – IMOLA CITY PRIZE:
RENOWNED ARTISTS AND YOUNG TALENTS BROUGHT TO THE FOREGROUND DURING TWO WEEKS OF CONCERTS, PIANO AND CHAMBER MUSIC MASTERCLASSES.
From July 16 to 30, 2019, Imola will become again the international center for piano and chamber music. Two weeks of advanced music training and concerts will bring into town the best talents from around the world.
This is the eighth edition of Imola Summer Piano Academy and Festival, the programme of events conceived and developed by the International Piano Academy “Incontri col Maestro” in Imola with the innovative “Combo”: a Summer School arranged during the day with Academy’s teachers, where young musicians from all over the world can enroll in, as well as those who are already students of the Academy; In addition, a series of night concerts featuring classical music’s great performers.
Delegations of very young pianists selected in China, Japan and Australia are attending the Summer School, thanks to projects set and consolidated over the years by the International Piano Academy in Imola, an institution curbing the trend of national talent drain, hosting students coming from more than 40 countries on every continent.
The “Premio Città di Imola” (City of Imola Award) for members of the Piano Summer School only will also take place during the Festival. A prestigious award endowed with €20,000 in prize money by institutions and private citizens, including the “Florence Daniel Marzotto” Talent Award donated by Veronica and Dominique Marzotto in memory of Countess Florence.
The concert programming, an outcome of the didactic activity since ever, schedule every day from July 16 to July 30 events in the afternoon (matinee) and evening, performances at the Teatro dell’Osservanza and other places in the city.
The Academy emphasizes the close collaboration with the City of Imola that, thanks to the great participation of students in the masterclasses and high audience attendance at the concerts, granted useful spaces for the classes at Vassura Baroncini Music School and made available the Teatro dell ‘ Osservanza for the night concerts.
The event is arranged in collaboration with the Municipality of Imola with the support of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, the Regione Emilia-Romagna and the Cassa di Risparmio di Imola Foundation.
