GIOVANNI VALENTINI

He completed his musical studies at the same time as the scientific ones, following the organ course and graduating in piano and harpsichord at the “G. Rossini ”of Pesaro. He studied piano with Franco Scala and attended master classes with Jörg Demus, Stanislav Neuhaus, Rudolf Jansen and Carlo Zecchi.

His artistic activity saw him engaged in concerts and festivals as a solo pianist and in chamber formations, particularly in duo with cellist Claudio Casadei and, together with the violinist Antonio Bigonzi, with the Trio of Pesaro. He has also played with the Quartet “Aurora” and “Rosamundae”. He has collaborated with instrumentalists and singers and made several recordings. The didactic activity sees him as the holder of a chair of piano at the “G. Rossini ”of Pesaro, whose head office in Fermo was Director.

He was a lecturer at the International Piano Academy “Incontri col Maestro” in Imola from 1996 to 2005, contributing to the birth and development. He has held piano master classes in Italy, Canada and Japan; summer piano specialization courses at Badia Prataglia, Bardonecchia, Camerino, Pinè, Sestriere and Chamber Music in Bellaria for S.I.E.M., Cantiano, Amalfi (Liederistica); a training course on Piano Teaching for the European Economic Community organized by the Emilia Romagna Region. From 2008 to date it holds a piano masterclass in Jesi as part of Macrocosmi Musica.Many of its students have been awarded prizes in important National Competitions and Piano internationals including: A. Casagrande, Terni; V. Bucchi, Rome; Epinales, France; Iaen Award, Spain; 20th siècle of Orlèans, France; J. S. Bach, Germany; Osimo, Osimo; City of Pescara, Pescara; Dino Ciani, Milan; Sanremo, Sanremo; Stresa, Stresa; “TO. B. Michelangeli ”, Desenzano del Garda; TIM 1998 and 2003; V, VII and IX of the Società Umanitaria, Milan; Venice Award, Venice.

He was Artistic Director of the “Città di Senigallia” International Piano Competition.
