Born in Imola, he got his degree at Conservatorio “Martini” in Bologna, and at “Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia” in Rome with Master Carlo Zecchi. He’s been teaching for over 30 years at “Conservatorio Rossini” in Pesaro. Many of his students have won the most prestigious international contests in the world. In 1989 he founded Imola’s “Accademia Pianistica”. His teaching activity is distinguished by the innovative features, which led him to win the “President of the Republic prize in 2014 and the “Vendome Award” in 2017, which he was awarded with by the Swiss Orpheus Foundation.
